Automated Documentation and Reporting Tool For Aerospace Design Data

The purpose of this project is to develop the foundation for a knowledge management system for documenting and reporting high-level CFD information. The documentation portion of the system gathers information from CFD calculations, such as the input values, grid parameters, and solution quality measures, and stores this information in a structured database. The reporting mechanism then allows users to query the information and to retrieve output, and includes a method for integrating data from a large number of solution runs so they can be viewed in a multidimensional design space. Metrics that quantify the uncertainty and inconsistency information are included in the design data for easy interpretation by the user. Users can also learn how well the computational technology applies to a given engineering problem, the limitations of the technology, the errors present in a solution set, and the distribution of a flow feature throughout the design space.
