Background

Mr. Quijano joined NEAR in June 2008. He has participated in a variety of projects involving submersible hydrodynamic, store separation, aerodynamics and aeroacoustics of launch vehicles, a comparison study of golf drivers, airfoil characterization, two-stage rocket separation simulation, and internal flow analysis. Mr. Quijano has experience in CFD-related software: Pointwise/Gridgen, Hypgen, Overgrid, Chimera Grid Tools, Pegasus, Overflow, ESI-CFD, Overture, and Tecplot.

Prior to joining Nielsen Engineering & Research, Mr. Quijano was a teacher assistant in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at San Jose State University (SJSU). There, he designed, organized, prepared, instructed, and graded laboratory courses relevant to water tunnel visualization; wind tunnel and shock tube testing; and strain, stress, and torsion measurements. His B.S. project focused on the design and manufacture of a heavy lift UAV to compete in the SAE Aero Design West Competition. His M.S. Research focused on the design of a Mars Autonomous Plane.

In his leisure time Mr. Quijano enjoys playing and watching soccer, spending quality time with his loved ones, dancing, and watching a good movie. Mr. Quijano lives by his motto: enjoy life!
